the minute I saw the theme was about triumph I wanted to submit a piece
It was important to me to submit because my dad was diagnosed with stage four non hodgkins lymphoma. He wasn't supposed to live due to the brain tumor and the cancer spreading through all of his body, at one point the doctors said he only had two weeks to live. But miraculously my dad overcame the cancer, he has been cancer free for two years now, you could say he was a miracle case or he is just the luckiest of the unlucky. My dad is one of the most important people in my life, he is my hero and I can't imagine what life would have been like without him, I'm so thankful that he is able to be here with us today. Watching him go through what he did was really hard, it is by far the hardest thing I have gone through in my 20 years, I am still trying to let go some of the things and bad memories of that time in my life so this artwork symbolizes something really important to me. its symbolizes all the things I'm finally excepting and coming to terms with.

Season: I realize there isn't much indication in the background to what season it is, but I imagined it being Spring because it is the season for rebirth, or rejuvenation, I was hoping people would guess the season on a metaphoric note rather than a literal note
